Yankees continue march to Awesomeness

Up to this point the New York Yankees have struggled against the Boston Red Sox. We took 2 of 3 in our last series, but were still way behind in the season series heading into today’s game. Not only do we struggle against the redsox, but we always have trouble hitting their top pitchers. That changed today as the Yankees lit up Jon Lester. The Yanks scored 8 earned runs vs the Red Sox best pitcher in just 2.2 innings as they cruised to an easy 9-1 victory. We had some key hits including a 3 run bomb by our captain Derek Jeter as he works his way to being Mr. DJ4k. Our future star Jesus Montero cemented his position on the post season roster by going 3-4 with 4 RBI’s, including a long ball in the 6th inning. You have to love what we’ve seen of Montero as he’s pulled up his batting average to .346 since his call up. WOW! It was also great to see Freddy Garcia get back on track today with 6 shutout innings. The Chief had been stumbling through the last month of the season, but this is just what we want to see in the final week. Today’s win has to give you a lot of confidence as a Yankees fan. We play a double header tomorrow so expect to see a lot of Scranton Yankees out there so the varsity can prepare for more awesomeness in October.

  2. Awesomeness… a Fitz and Vig exclusive? Great to see Garcia with the bounce back contribution. Needed that. And DJ4K has actually had some meaningful hits of late. Truly shocking for Fitz and Vig… but good to see.
